4 free exercise classes for you and the kids

4 free exercise classes for you and the kids

Hello from the home office (…a.k.a my kitchen table)

Like you, most of our team are working from home for the foreseeable future and it’s been an adjustment…  Routines have changed and we can’t do everything we want to do.  But you should let that slow you down! We’re encouraging everyone to stay active, even while you’re stuck indoors.

If you exercised regularly before, you may be missing your old classes and if you didn’t, now is a great time to start a new habit! Either way, if you’re feeling a little off-kilter, exercise can be a ready great way to find balance again.

Not only are the physical health benefits great – weight loss, lower risks of chronic illnesses like heart disease and type 2 diabetes – but the mental health benefits are great too.  Physical activity can boost your self-esteem and improve your mood, who couldn’t do with a bit of that right now? Not getting enough sleep? Exercise can help with that too. And it’ll give you a great boost of energy.

I think it’s fair to say that most of us are stress at the moment (who likes change?!). Exercise can help relieve stress. It has been shown to help with depression, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease too.

If you’re looking for the right workout, we’ve got you covered!

Here are our top FREE resources to help you stay active:

For the kids:

PE with Joe

Joe Wicks A.K.A. The Body Coach has become the UK's PE teacher  (…and rest of the world seem to be joining in too)! He’s running free classes every weekday to help children and their parents keep fit while self-isolating.

He’s had over 6 million views so far, making exercise fun for small children and their parents.

Each video is about 30 minutes and they are so easy to follow along with. Even if you don’t have kids, you can check it out on his YouTube page.

Cosmic Kids Yoga

Want wiser, calmer children? (… don’t we all?!) That's the promise Cosmic Kids Yoga is living up to. You and the kids can follow along with a story told through yoga poses making exercise fun. Do your kids like Harry Potter, Star Wars, Moana, frozen? They’ve got themed yoga stories for your family.

Each video is 10 to 15 minutes long, and there’s loads of playlist to choose from so you’ll never be stuck for something new. Find your zen on their YouTube page.
